Busy Recharging my Energy and Wallet

Ok, I lied... I didn't blog about my Japan training experience when I got back frommy NYC flight. Anyway, I've decided to NOT blog about it. Reasons: 1) I'm too lazy to write down the feelings I had. 2) I guess I'll just put those memories in my heart and seal it up and only open when I'm very free. Haha.

Anyway, I've completed my OJT flights and will be heading back to the office for a post-OJT breifing next Tuesday. I'll also get my new December schedule then. A new kind of stress is coming, cos from now onwards, I won't have my trainee badge to shield me and I have to perform up to the normal crew standards.

Ok, will take one step at a time. There's no point worrying about stuff too early. I don't want to waste my time and energy on things that will only make me look older and less happy.

I spent quite a lot in LA. Bought US$200plus of Abercrombie & Fitch stuff, a Kate Spade coin pouch, and some Body & Works products. Oh, I guess I'm one of those really rare cabin crew that go to a bookstore in every outstation. Yes, I went to Barnes & Noble in NYC and LA. Spent about US$100 in total, on books and magazines. I'm a book freak, and proud of it.

Really hoping that I get to spend Christmas in New York, so that I can see all those amazing lights and trees. Well, not sure how my schedule will turn out. But I can wish, can't I??

My First Flight as A C/A

Ok, I know it makes more sense to blog about my training life in Japan. But I have no time and energy to do so! I promise- I'll do so after I come back from my NYC pattern.

Well, I had my first 2 flights as a C/A (Cabin Attendant). How was it? Tough, of course, both physically and mentally. I had to do a lot of revision before the flight and brace myself for the 'questioning' that may come at any time. The luggage packing was no joke also. Since my flight pattern was a 3-day SIN/KIX pattern, I thought just my overnight bag will be enough. Yes, the bag is JUST enough. I only have half the bag to put my clothes and shoes after packing in the 2 C/A manuals.

My flights were great. The Japanese crew on board were really nice and my instructors for the 2 flights (who both happened to be Japanese) were very patient and caring towards me. The 2 Singaporean seniors I flew with also took care of me and my buddy MR. The night we landed in KIX, they brought us out to dinner at one of the restaurants at the hotel and we chatted in their rooms until 11 plus.

Of course, I made some mistakes during the flights and had to apologise a lot. But the PAX were nice and I had no problems with them. A group of Japanese PAX saw my trainee badge when I was serving them and asked if I'm a newbie. I said it's my first flight and they all gave me their encouragement. After we arrived at KIX, the PAX saw me at the doorside and said "Ganbarou!!" Very touched, because this kind of experience will never happen again once I pass out and remove my trainee badge.

2 down, 8 more flights to go before I pass out. Wish me luck, I need tons of it. Have to go do revision now, and start packing my cargo for NYC. I just hope I don't screw up too badly this time.
